Windsock came about to bring a central location which people could communicate about slope gliding. This site is designed to support the growth of slope gliding in South East Queensland, but more importantly for all slopers, despite location, to share their love and passion for slope gliding. Through it isn't a club site, it does have the sense of open communication through the Windsock forum. Join the forum today, and learn slope gliding the easy way by asking heaps of questions. There are lots of guys on the forum who are more than happy to help you out.

I have had an RC background since 1990, when I was into racing RC buggies. It has only been since 2002 that I have seen the light and made the switch to slope gliding. I love the freedom of flying for hours and discovering new and interesting places to fly.

My first plane was a Zagi and since then my hanger (as my wife calls it) has expanded to include planes like the Bee, Weasel and Komet. I don't proclaim to know it all, in fact I'm a newbie compared to some people, but I have a unwavering passion for slope gliding.

For those international readers I fly mostly in South East Queensland, Australia. Some of my favourite spots include Shorncliffe, Maleny and Woody Point.
