Flying Stories 07/05/07 - Second organised Flying Day at Mt Mee

Authour: Andrew von Berky

That was really a great day at Mt Mee today - we had so many people! At one stage, about 2pm, there were 10 cars, and 7 planes in the air at once! Plus various wives and kids too, all of whom seemed to be having a good time!

Slope Gliding

Pardon me if I forget anyone, but from my memory the actual fliers we had were Andrew (me), Nick (my son), Gerard, Alan from Redcliffe, Sean, Simon (ST) from Maleny, and also his uncle who was having a lesson, Pete from the Maleny club and his mate Simon from Brisbane and his mate whose name I've forgotten, Steve (Portfox) and Paul (from Slopefun), and their friend Adrian, and Matthew and Scott from Brisbane. I think i've forgotten at least one ... !

Slope Gliding

The range of planes flown today included: various Bees, Ozprey, Sean's mod Bat, a couple of Slopefun EPP planes, a DG1000 scaley, a Miraj sloperacer, the Drongo, two Skua 56"'s, the Minij, Ricochet, Alan's foam fighter and his balsa plane, even a couple of home made jobs made of all-coreflute design which were "maidened", and a couple of "Ele Bees". Plus more I didn't see or can't remember.

The wind didn't disappoint - the lift was good and got pretty strong at times.

Wish we had a radar gun to clock those big dives!
